At Aldis, Don’t Forget Your Quarter

Who moves from place to place as a way of obtaining food, finding pasture for livestock, or otherwise making a living. The word Nomadd comes from a Greek word that means one who wanders for pasture.

I tried Aldi for the first time and I’m not sure how I feel.

So, I’ve finally tried Aldi for the first time the other day. Typically I prefer to do my grocery shopping at Publix but I’m always open to new adventures and hello, who doesn’t enjoy a good deal? Now, for starters, I’ve decided to give you a check off list for things needed before you make the trip. Yes, you’re going to need a few things…before you go to the store to get a few things.

1. 1 Quarter
2. Reusable Bags(I brought mine from Publix)
3.Time

I went to the Aldi in Lakeworth, FL and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was. There were no carts left all over the parking lot, the inside looked well kept, and the staff was incredibly helpful. I didn’t create my shopping list before I went (Shocker) so I decided to go down each aisle.

First thing I picked up was this red blend wine “Dancing Flame“; I’m not a wine snob by any means but I enjoyed it! I also enjoyed the fact the back of the bottle listed the taste, style, notes of undertones and even food pairing details. This gave me a GREAT idea for dinner! I made a grilled skirt steak with baked zucchini and sweet potato mixed with bow tie pasta and a little olive oil.

I picked up a few other items like tuna, everything bagels, Pasta, the steak for dinner, socks, and a few vegetables. They didn’t have a wide variety of things and nothing name brand but you can’t complain about prices like that!

Once I was finished I went to pay for my groceries and the line seemed a little slow. There aren’t many people working and I’ve heard the low overhead allowed the store to keep their low prices. That didn’t seem to stop them from charging me for bags for my groceries but, I came prepared! I bagged my own groceries, returned my cart, and headed back to my car.

Overall I had a pretty good experience. The prices were good, the wine was good, everything seemed to be fresh when I got home and I felt pretty good about saving some trees with my reusable bags! I will definitely be going back next week for a few things.

Next on my list is The Boys, in Delray Beach!
